How are Quicksilver items made?

All of our jewellery is handmade at our workshop in Laugharne, West Wales. This means each piece is completely unique and therefore may differ sightly to the pictures shown, but every item has been hard-crafted with care.

What is recycled silver? 

Recycled silver (or Ecosilver) is sterling silver recycled from unwanted jewellery, electronics, medical equipment and other unused silver products. Recycled silver has the same qualities and properties as sterling silver. This is a more sustainable and ethical choice of jewellery as no mining activity is required to source the metal but the quality remains equal to unrecycled precious metals. 

How do I know what ring size to order? 

All rings are made according to UK ring sizes. There are templates online which help measure or we can send you a ring sizer if you’re unsure. Remember your fingers will swell slightly when your body temperature rises and your fingers will appear at their smallest when you are cold, so it is always best to check multiple times to ensure an accurate measurement. 

How do I know what bangle size to order? 

Either measure a bangle you already own that fits over your knuckles or bring your thumb and little finger together and measure where your hand is the widest (usually around the knuckles). Use a piece of string, ribbon etc and measure with a ruler. Please feel free to message if you have questions on sizing as we cater for all sizes. 

How long will it take to receive my order?

If the item is currently in stock it will be dispatched within 2-3 working days. If it is an item that is being made to order then please allow up to two weeks for it to be dispatched. If it is something that needs to be sent off for hallmarking then it may take a little longer. 
All items purchased are shipped using Royal Mail Postal Service. Before you complete your order you will be given the option whether to use standard shipping, or signed for delivery using a tracked service. Please do note that once your order has left us it is in the hands of Royal Mail and we will not be held accountable for missing orders. 

Are all Quicksilver items hallmarked? 

Legally, any items sold that weigh over 7.78g of silver are required to be hallmarked. If your item is not legally required to be hallmarked but you would like it to be, this can be arranged.We use a full set of London hallmarks. This assures you that we are using Sterling Silver. The hallmarks will show the 925 symbol, telling you the quality of silver; a letter, for the year it was made; and a panther's head, to show it was hallmarked at the London Assay Office. Included in our hallmarks is the maker's mark. This is Alby's personal symbol reading A&S. 

Do you do repairs or resizing?

Yes, depending on the item. Please get in touch to discuss further. 

What aftercare would you recommend? 

We would advise to remove jewellery when showering/bathing/swimming and avoid using harmful chemicals when wearing your jewellery. Using a silver polishing cloth will keep your items looking their best. 

Do you do gift vouchers?

We do, these can be any amount. Please pop us a message to discuss and we can send one out to you or directly to your recipient. 

Can I return an item?

If for some reason you are unhappy with your purchase please get in touch as soon as possible to discuss a refund or exchange. 

What is your Privacy Policy?

When you place an order with us online we receive your order via our website. We lovingly make, pack and send your order. Once your order has left us we do not save any of your payment details. We do not have any copies of your personal data as hard files or on our computers. We will not ever sell, share or retain any of your personal details.
